The history of the Bava family begins in Cocconato, a village perched on the hills of Asti Monferrato. The Bava family has been cultivating vineyards in this area since 1600, today the property extends into Monferrato and the Langhe, with vineyards and wild woods cultivated with the same sensitivity as in the past, for a sustainable agriculture with a reduced impact on the environment. Passing by the Bava vineyards, you can see the grass mowns and the remains of pruning used as natural manure, the wooden poles coming from renewable forests and the grassing between the rows which prevents soil erosion and ensures the exclusion of herbicides. The three farms of Cocconato, Agliano and Castiglione Falletto have been producing excellent and unique wines for generations. The wineries were founded in 1911 and since 1975 have been pioneers in the use of barriques.
