Pinot Noir Akarua - Edmond De Rothschild Heritage

Pinot Noir Akarua - Edmond De Rothschild Heritage

Akarua Pinot Noir represents one of the most refined and distinctive expressions of this noble grape variety, coming from New Zealand, a nation that in recent decades has established itself as one of the production areas of high quality Pinot Noir in the world. In particular, the Akarua winery, located in the Central Otago region, is known for its ability to produce Pinot Noir that combine aromatic intensity, complexity and extraordinary elegance, thanks to the unique climatic and soil conditions of the area. Central Otago is New Zealand's only wine region with a continental climate, offering hot summers and cold winters, as well as wide daily temperature ranges, which help develop and concentrate the aromas of Pinot Noir, while maintaining a lively acidity that guarantees freshness and longevity. The soils, rich in minerals and with various compositions, from clayey to gravelly, allow Akarua to produce wines with a marked territorial identity.

The Cellar: The winemaking tradition of the Rothschild family dates back to the second half of the 19th century, and to 1868 to be exact, the year in which James de Rothschild purchased the famous Château Lafite. However, it was in 1973 that, after more than a century of family history connected to the world of wine, James' great-grandson, Baron Edmond de Rothschild, strengthened the company properties, acquiring two "Crus Bourgeois" in Listrac and Moulis en Médoc: Château Clarke and Château Malmaison. Since then the rise has never stopped: by rigorously restoring all the structures and buildings, and starting systematic replanting, the "Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild" was founded which, while maintaining a family dimension, has open to modernizations and innovations, also crossing the French borders, to arrive in New Zealand, South Africa and the Argentine Andes. Experience and traditions dictate the pace both in the vineyard and in the cellar, so between the rows the vines are grown with extreme care and in full respect of the environment and ecosystem, while in the winemaking, aging and refinement phase, each production step is meticulously and scrupulously monitored. Producing quality wines that meet the highest standards in terms of choice of terroirs and choice of winemaking systems, the company continues to constantly expand, maintaining a firm passion for excellence and setting the bar straight towards regular dynamism. productive. A winemaking company, in short, to be included among the most prestigious in the world, capable of combining maximum excellence with large numbers like few others.
