Cognac Paradis Rare - Hennessy
Hennessy Paradis is indeed the most sensual facet of the classic Hennessy house. Dating back to the 19th century, Hennessy Paradis Cognac is an Hors d'Age Cognac. This Cognac comes straight from Paradise, or so one might think from reading the name. In reality, Paradis refers to the house's oldest and most precious cellar, where the barrels of the finest eaux-de-vie are stored. In 1979, Maurice Fillioux, Master Cognac, curated Hennessy Paradis. It is with this collection that the sixth-generation craftsman has created what can only be described as his own personal symphony of notes. Within this blend, tributes to the treasure trove of spirits his ancestors had previously collected are evident. Fillioux has combined his ear for music and his 30 years of artisanal experience, blending over 100 different eaux-de-vie to create a delicate melody of notes that will play with the taster's senses. Some of them date back to 1880. By assembling a structure of notes from his grandfather's rarest collection, Fillioux created this carefully refined Cognac. As the world's largest Cognac producer, Hennessy owns terroir in four grand cru regions, including Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, and Fins Bois. With the largest reserve of eaux-de-vie in the world, this selection of aromas allows this house to create some of the most complex Cognac blends. Matured in oak barrels after double distillation in copper stills, the nuanced nature of Paradis begins its life.

The Distillery: Hennessy's legacy began in 1765, when Irishman Richard Hennessy set out to create one of the world's finest Cognacs after serving in the French army under Louis XV. Throughout its history, the company has established itself as one of the world's leading cognac houses thanks to its ability to continually innovate. In the 19th century, Hennessy pioneered the original VSOP brand after receiving a request from King George IV to create a "very superior old Cognac." It was beloved worldwide, even in Russia and China, as French culture was transported to other worlds. Since Maurice Hennessy followed suit with the creation of Extra Old (XO), Hennessy has set the global standard for Cognac classification. Today, the house owns the largest reserve of eaux-de-vie in the world, with approximately 350,000 barrels. The master blenders have honed their blending techniques through generations of Fillioux family heritage. Their goal now is to continue innovating into the future, creating high-quality blends appreciated by both younger and older generations.
