The whiskey was crafted from a single European oak sherry butt, selected for its unusually complex character by Glenturret whiskey maker Bob Dalgarno.

Tasting Notes: Bouquet of caramelized tropical fruits, soft marshmallows and a rich vanilla custard. On the palate dried raisins intertwined with notes of toasted oak; Cinnamon and bright wood spice precede citrus and sultanas with hints of oak and sweet vanilla. Lingering fruity finish sprinkled with explosions of warm spices.
 
The Distillery: An extraordinary story, which has its roots in the myth of Whiskey Glenturret Distillery has been a point of reference in Scotland for centuries, so much so that it has been defined as Scotland's Oldest Working Distillery, the oldest still active distillery in the country. During its long life it was visited by writers and poets, including Robert Burns, and acclaimed by ministers and princes: its master distillers were one of its most precious treasures and gave life to unique spirits, representative of the philosophy of this Scottish jewel. Glenturret has been the subject of study by the historian, Roland Kissling who attributes its birth to 1763, thanks to a rental document from Sir Patrick Murray of Ochentyre, the founder, dating back to that year tasting a Glenturret means tasting the the most authentic and ancient essence of Scotch Whisky.
