Tasting Notes: Dark gold colour. Hints of fruity cooked plums, plum jam, notes of currants, raisins, sultanas, caramel cream, maple syrup, licorice, grilled orange peel, smoked seaweed. Sweet taste, chestnut honey, intense beeswax, fresh leather, tobacco, roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, oak notes. Long lasting finish, smoked wood, dried fruit, hints of incense.
 
The Distillery: The original Islay, the pioneer. Bowmore is Islay's first licensed distillery. It has been located on the shores of Lochindaal, a sea lake that opens into the wild Atlantic Ocean, since 1779.
