Single Malt Scotch Whisky Barrel Reserve - Arran
 
An unpeated single malt Scotch whisky, aged for approximately 7 years in only first-fill ex-bourbon casks and bottled at standard gravity to its natural colour and without being cold filtered.

Tasting Notes: Golden in colour. The nose is fresh with elegant notes of citrus, green grass and biscuit malt with hints of vanilla and apple. The taste is smooth but not predictable, with notes of vanilla, apple, barley malt and a slight marine note with honey. The finish is medium persistent, with notes of cinnamon, vanilla and caramel; hints of oak and citrus.
 
The Distillery: Arran Barrel Reserve is a rather young whisky, which has only been offered by Arran for a few years, once the high distillation standards the company has achieved in just three decades. Today, the distillery's core range is wide, and for the past few years it has also been able to count on this Arran Barrel Reserve: the whisky in question is matured for an undisclosed number of years (between five and ten, presumably) in first-fill casks that have previously contained ex-bourbon, resulting in a whisky that is very little wood-oriented, where the technical expertise of Arran distillation emerges even more clearly.
