The Winery: With nearly 140 years of history, Bodega Williams & Humbert, founded in 1877 by Sir Alexander Williams, a great expert and enthusiast of Jerez products, and Arthur Humbert, a specialist in international relations, is recognized as one of the most prestigious wineries in Jerez and is world-renowned for its Sherry production. Sherry is a laborious and sophisticated wine; forgotten for years, it has never lost its value as a premium wine, so much so that recently this truly unique product is returning to the spotlight. The Bodegas Williams & Humbert facilities, considered the largest in Europe, consist of a complex of interconnected buildings spanning approximately 180,000 square meters. The Bodegas' products combine tradition and savoir-faire acquired over the centuries, reflected in the quality of its prestigious labels. The winery still preserves wines and brandies dating back to its founding and has received the National Architecture Award. The company-owned vineyards are located in the triangle formed by Jerez de la Frontera, Puerto de Santa María, and Sanlucar de Barrameda, an area that enjoys a unique and favorable microclimate due to the presence of the Guadalquivir and Guadalete rivers. On a global scale, Williams & Humbert is developing an ambitious program to diversify its high-quality agri-food sector. Among its most innovative projects is the Dos Maderas rums, which are produced and partially aged in the Caribbean before being transferred to Jerez for final maturation. Respecting the most important traditional values, Williams & Humbert's strategic plan is being developed with great creative vitality and a strong spirit of modernization; great tenacity and innovative drive, while always rooted in traditional values, embody its spirit.
