Distillery: Long Pond Distillery is a Jamaican distillery founded in the late 18th century when Simon Clarke, a baronet in exile, received the property as a dowry for his marriage. It wasn't until 1921 that the owners were traced, with the purchase of the estate by the Sheriff & Co. company. The company acquired and merged a significant number of distilleries. The estate took the name Trelawny Estate in 1955, and in 1977, the industry was purchased by the Jamaican government, which decided to rename it The National Sugar Company of Long Pond Ltd. and place it under the aegis of the National Rum of Jamaica company, which was privatized a few years later, around 1993. Inside the old buildings, the five stills, subtly modified over time, and the fermentation tanks ensure a high-quality and inimitable production.
