Rumbullion Premium Rum - Ableforths
 
The fine Caribbean rum is the basis for the addition of creamy Madagascar vanilla and a generous use of spicy orange peel. The distillery followed a secret recipe, adding a handful of cloves and a pinch of cardamom. Rumbullion! Proudly sports a maritime-inspired label featuring a hand-drawn illustration of a Navy grog bottle, emblazoned with the words: "The Queen, God Bless Her." We recommend it as is, with a little ice, but we are assured that two parts rum and one part fresh lime make a perfect daiquiri.

Tasting Notes: Golden colour, shiny. A fabulously decadent nose of intense, sweet vanilla and orange zest. Cardamom makes itself known, cloves bring out a deep and dark complexity. Even more sweetness with cinnamon, which blends beautifully with the notes of Seville orange peel essential oil. On the palate it is a fabulous mix of bitter orange marmalade and spices. A long and spicy finish.
 
The Distillery: Ableforth's was born in 2011 from the dreams of a visionary, Professor Cornelius Ampleforth. In fact, this eclectic man "dreamed of running a large laboratory full of beakers, test tubes, plants and liquors". "Professor" Cornelius is famous for his countless experiments which have led to the creation of one-of-a-kind flavors and aromas, gins which are characterized by the use of a vast range of tools and methods linked to the past, to the great delight of demanding palates and connoisseurs. The professor's infusions, distillations and genius ensure that every bottle produced is packed with rich, complex flavours. In addition to the various types of gin we also find a particular rum: Rumbullion!, a Caribbean rum to which Madagascar vanilla, orange peel, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom have been added. Today Ableforth's, based in Kent, is synonymous with originality and quality in the world of Spirits, as demonstrated by the great and constant success, as well as the numerous prizes awarded: various golds in the World Gin Awards and in the International Wine & Spirit Competition, in The Gin Masters and in the International Spirits Challenge.
