Ron Centenario XO Riedel Set - Zacapa
 
Ron Zacapa Centenario XO is a strictly limited edition. The specially selected barrels are stored for up to 25 long years in Quetzaltenango, which is located at 2300m above sea level. The constantly cool climate and the control of noise level, humidity, light and temperature allow for a gentle maturation of this special rum. The various barrels in which whiskey, sherry and wines were previously stored give this rum a very particular note. Lorena Vasquez, the master blenders of Ron Zacapa and Ron Botran, specially selects the barrels to give the rum its flavors and aromas. The bottle is made of fine crystal glass.

Tasting Notes: Amber colour. Sweet bouquet, vanilla. Caramel flavour, spices, sugar cane, tobacco, notes of black berries and wood. Long-lasting finish, with white chocolate toffee.
 
The Distillery: Licorera Zacapaneca was born in the eastern part of Guatemala, in Zacapa. Founded in 1940 by 3 local families, Girón, Estrada and Gordillo, production was entrusted from the beginning to a rum expert from Spain, Dr. Burgaleta. Zacapa rums are created from pure sugar cane juice, a plant grown on the volcanic soils of the southern part of the country. In the fermentation process, which lasts 5 days, a yeast extracted from pineapple, belonging to a proprietary strain, is used in order to guarantee a singular and constant taste over time. The aging process then takes place on the plateaus of the city of Quetzaltenango, at an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level, in the so-called "House above the Clouds": this place, chosen by the winery's master blender, Lorena Vasquez, is characterized by a cool climate which favors slow aging in white oak barrels, previously used for Bourbon whiskey and Sherry, and handcrafted by renowned artisans. Finally, Zacapa rums are created with the solera method: the assembly of barrels of different vintages and characteristics allows us to obtain rums for sale online of excellent quality and unmistakable taste.
