Rhum Blanc Agricole Canne Bleue - Clement

Rhum Blanc Agricole "Canne Bleue" by Clément is a white and mono-varietal rum, it is extracted from blue sugar cane, one of the most prized in Martinique grown at the foot of Mount Pelée. The alcoholic strength by volume is lowered to a percentage of fifty thanks to the use of very pure water of volcanic origin. It is a very particular rum, to be drunk straight and enjoying every nuance.

Tasting Notes: Perfectly transparent and crystalline, the nose immediately has a hint of lime peel that is intertwined with sweet notes. On the palate, the flavor of fresh peach and herbaceous hints combine perfectly, making this rum an absolutely original product. The finish is long and spicy.

The Distillery: The Maison Clément is currently one of the oldest properties on the island of Martinique, to the point of having almost become a kind of historical monument: always open to the public, it has welcomed truly prestigious guests and visitors over the decades. Born at the end of the 19th century, in 1887 to be precise, the company came to life at the hands of Homère Clément, doctor and mayor of Le François, who after purchasing the prestigious 43-hectare sugar plantation of the Domaine de L'Acajou , began producing Rhum Agricole directly from sugar cane juice, obtaining a distillate characterized by a contemporary and pure style. In the wake of this production, Homère Clément himself chose to create a real distillery, in particular to satisfy the great demand for alcohol during the First World War. After the death of Homère Clément, his son, Charles Clément, took over the management of the business, perfecting the production methods and starting to export Martinique Rhum Agricole abroad for the first time.
