Pouilly Fume AOC - Langlois Chateau
Along the Loire Valley, before the river's sharp bend near Orléans, lie two important AOCs based on the Sauvignon Blanc grape. One of these, located on the right bank of the river, is the Pouilly-Fumé AOC, to which this Pouilly-Fumé produced by Domaine Langlois-Château belongs. Easy to drink, it is characterized by freshness and minerality. Best enjoyed young.

The Winery: Founded at the beginning of the last century by Édouard Langlois and his wife, Jeanne Chateau, the Langlois-Chateau winery is located in St-Hilaire-St-Florent, in the Loire Valley. Today, the estate is still owned by descendants of the Langlois family, who entered into a partnership with the Bollinger family in 1973. Continually seeking qualitative improvements, the winery is particularly active in viticultural research, favoring natural cultivation methods aimed at maximum respect for the environment, nature, the ecosystem, and biodiversity. Between the rows, grassing under the vines and mechanical tillage are practiced. Harvesting is strictly done by hand, and through green harvesting, yields per hectare are kept low to prioritize quality over quantity. Systemic treatments and chemical products are rarely used, and instead the goal is to maintain the highest possible balance in each individual vine, resulting in concentrated bunches, rich in all their organoleptic characteristics. Even in the cellar, Langlois-Chateau has consistently invested in high-quality materials, allowing it to fully respect the nature of the grapes and enhance their varietal character. While not among the largest wineries in terms of size, Langlois-Chateau is well-established on the international market and increasingly focused on exports, which currently account for about a third of its production. With wines from the Samur and Sancerre appellations, and also producing one of the finest Crémant de Loire, Domaine Langlois-Chateau offers us, season after season, irresistibly charming labels that embody the finest winemaking excellence in the Loire Valley, revealing, through the glass, the true essence of a region second to none when it comes to wine.
