Moulis en Medoc AOC - Chateau Malmaison Edmond De Rothschild Heritage
Chateau Malmaison is a still red wine produced by the famous French winery Baron Edmond de Rothschild. Obtained from a blend of typical local vines, specifically 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, this intense and very structured red perfectly represents the Bordeaux area and the denomination to which it belongs. The grapes from which this important and prized red wine is obtained derive the maximum benefit from the limestone-clay-based soils on which they arise. The attention to quality is evident in every step, but especially in the harvest phase, which is carried out strictly manually, before moving on to a further selection of the grapes after a more accurate visual examination. Following vinification, which takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, the wine is matured in new oak barriques. Chateau Malmaison is a classic 'Bordeaux' style, round, soft, intense, with excellent structure, an elegant tannic texture and a long final persistence: ideal to be enjoyed in the context of an important dinner.

Tasting Notes: Intense ruby red, with violet reflections, to the eye. The scents that the nose can perceive are extraordinary: notes of truffle, pencil shavings and graphite make the bouquet regal, also made up of sweet hints of blackcurrant and cedar. The tasting is intense and profound, guided by silky tannins and dominated by a wonderful concentration. Very long persistence.
Pairings: It is ideal to accompany land cuisine, in particular preparations based on red meat, noble poultry and game.
The Cellar: The Château Malmaison vineyard, located in the Moulis del Médoc wine-growing area, is one of the oldest in the Médoc. Wine-growing vines have been established here, thanks to a handful of landowners and a large religious community, since medieval times. Baron Edmond de Rothschild acquired Château Clarke and Château Malmaison in 1973 and founded the "Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild. The ancient vineyard was replanted and completely renovated between 1974 and 1978 until the final result of a wine-growing area was achieved 54 hectares. Since the first vintage of Château Clarke, bottled in 1978, the quality of the wine has never stopped improving. Benjamin Rothschild acquired Château des Laurets in 2003 with the aim of fully exploiting the potential of the 86 hectares located between Puissegain Saint-Emilion and the Montagne Saint-Emilion.
