Mezcal Single Maguey Cuishe - Bozal
Bozal is Spanish and means something like being wild and untamed. This translation describes the still wild agave species and their indomitable traditional production. The Bozal Cuishe convinces above all with its tropical and partially dry aromas and flavors.
Type: Mezcal
Origin: Mexico
Alcohol content: 47%
Format: 70cl
Tasting Notes: Light colour. Intense citrus bouquet, complex, smoky flavor, tropical fruit, sweet potato. Long lasting, dry, smoky finish.
The Distillery: The Spanish term bozal translates to “wild,” referring to the wild species of Mexican agave grown in the hard-to-reach wildlands of Oaxaca, Guerrero and Durango. As well as the wild traditions with which family-run distilleries, or mezcaleros, distill small batches in those same places. For every maguey harvested to make Bozal Mezcal, two are planted in a wild mountain nursery to be transported back to the wild after a year or two. A portion of the production fees paid by 3 Badge Beverage Corp. is returned to small villages to support various community efforts.
