Tasting Notes: The wine is characterized by a golden yellow color, an aroma that enhances the scent of Canale peach, citrus fruits and white flowers, such as hawthorn. Tasting it, you can feel the freshness and youth of the wine, given by the notes of almonds and the finish of fresh hay. La Favorita is a not too long-lived wine, which expresses its peak within a year.
Pairings: Ideal as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to starters and fish-based first courses.
The Cellar: A story that begins in 1862 in Canale. The origins of the Rabino family date back to the Middle Ages, the settlement in the Roero, in the same lands that are still owned by the family today, followed the removal from the Alta Langa due to the frequent barbarian incursions. Wine production began in the mid-19th century with a small production reserved for family and friends: a passion that still did not represent a profit. Luigi Rabino, grandfather of the current owner and subsequent descendants, will then market the wines. Already during the period preceding the world wars, many of the varieties still produced were bottled. Sharing, overcoming difficult historical moments of the 20th century and increased demand have made the company today a Roero reality with diversified and almost fully self-sustainable production.
