Moscato Grappa - Tenuta San Mauro
Type: Grappa
Origin: Piedmont - Italy
Alcohol Content: 40%
Format: 50cl
Tasting Notes: Deep amber yellow color. Complex, ample, and elegant bouquet with notes of honey and ripe fruit. On the palate, vanilla notes, soft, fresh, and bold, typical of Nebbiolo.
The Winery: Cascina San Mauro is the estate's main site, located in the municipality of Castagnole delle Lanze, a town in the Province of Asti bordering the municipality of Neive. The farmhouse was built on the hillside and is reminiscent of a classic mid-19th-century Piedmontese courtyard, enclosed by perimeter walls with a large central farmyard. The vineyards envelop the estate in a stunning landscape. Cascina Vallone is a small farm in the hamlet of Piani di Castagnole Lanze; the vineyard faces east, overlooking the Langhe. The soils on this farm are particularly sandy, sedimentary, and therefore suitable for red grapes. The vineyards, trained primarily using the Guyot system, produce fine wines. Tenuta San Mauro is an ancient family passion: Mauro inherited his mother's passion for wine, a commitment to authenticity at all costs, and his father's love for the land, for ancient agriculture, its traditions, and its values.
