Gran Malbec Flechas De Los Andes - Edmond De Rothschild Heritage
Flechas de los Andes Gran Malbec is a full-bodied and structured red wine from Mendoza that reflects the typical qualities of Argentine Malbec. Flechas de los Andes was born in 1999 from the joint venture between the famous Bordeaux family Edmond de Rotschild and the French entrepreneur Laurent Dassault with the aim of creating a great Argentine wine. Thus was born in Vista Flores, in the Uco Valley, Gran Malbec, made with grapes coming from the best plots of the estate. Between maturation in wood and refinement in the bottle, this wine is kept in the cellar for 4 years from the harvest before its final release on the market. The Gran Malbec Mendoza by Flechas de los Andes is produced with only Malbec grown at 1,100 meters above sea level on soils of alluvial origin, rich in skeleton and mineral substances. The plants, located at the foot of the Andes, benefit from the sunny climate and significant daily temperature variations. Once the perfect level of ripeness has been reached, the bunches are harvested by hand, carefully selected, destemmed and then mashed into steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation associated with a few weeks of maceration on the skins. The malolactic fermentation is carried out completely and the wine ages for 18 months in French oak barriques, followed by approximately 30 months of refinement in the bottle.

Tasting Notes: Dark ruby red color. The aromatic spectrum is vivid, rich and expressive, outlined by hints of ripe red fruits, plum and wild violet which blend with spicy and toasted perceptions of black pepper. In the mouth it is intense and full, broad and balanced, with ripe tannins that accompany the long fruity finish.
Pairings: Perfect with meat and mushroom risottos, cured meats, stewed meats, stewed gravies and grilled white and red meats.
The Winery: Flechas de Los Andes was born from the partnership between Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Monsieur Laurent Dessault and is the result of the search for a large territory at the foot of the Andes. From this unique territory, which benefits from a dry and temperate climate, two wines are born: Gran Corte, a great blended wine and Gran Malbec, an Argentine Malbec. Flechas has vines that extend over more than a hundred hectares. Here Malbec reigns accompanied by Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Thanks to the dry climate of Mendoza, Malbec seems to have found a privileged place of expression on this territory of pebbles and alluvial stones. Great care is given to the vines with a double objective: to achieve a high level of quality and respect the environment.
