Gin - Black Tomato
 
Black tomato gin comes from a small fishing village called Bruinisse. The gin is made with black tomatoes and is 100% vegetarian, the water used for production comes from the largest national park in the Dutch Oosterschelde. The tomatoes used are Italian and Sicilian. They are harvested by hand and crushed before being macerated. With Black Tomato, the juniper is deliberately pushed into the background and the tomato is highlighted.

Tasting Notes: Dark in colour. Fruity, sweet bouquet, notes of tomato. The taste is juicy, rich tomato aroma, spicy and citrus. Long lasting, fruity and spicy finish.
 
Cocktail: Cool the balloon with edible ice; with a strainer drain the water that has created inside, add some basil leaves, and fill with ice cubes. At this point we can pour 5 cl of Black Tomato Gin, and immediately afterwards, we pour 12 cl of tonic, in this case, a Mediterranean tonic to recall the origins of the botanicals present in the gin. Please remember that, in order not to lose its fizz, it is advisable to pour the tonic using a barspoon.
 
The Distillery: Black Tomato Gin was born from an idea of two Dutch entrepreneurs, one with a passion for gin and the other with a hobby of growing black tomatoes. The gin is distilled at Kampen Distillery, Holland, and is inspired by the environment surrounding the distillery, but the botanicals used have not been revealed. It is known that it contains black tomatoes from southern Sicily and a little salt water and that tomatoes are the distinctive feature of this gin. The black bottle is very particular and does not fail to get noticed, as does the unique flavor of the gin!
