Gewurztraminer Stoass Sudtirol Alto Adige DOC - Pfitscher
Stoass Gewurztraminer Alto Adige is a wine that expresses all the aromatic strength and structure of the Gewurztraminer grape variety. The Pfitscher winery has been cultivating the soils of the Bassa Atesina in South Tyrol, an area devoted to the production of great wines, for more than 150 years. This white wine comes from ancient vineyards in the municipality of Egna. A soil rich in sand and gravel transported to the valley over the years by the Rio Trodena. Here the bunches of Gewürztraminer, a pink grape variety with an intense aroma, find ideal ripening conditions. Following the ancient winemaking tradition, the Pfitscher family carries out the harvest strictly by hand, without the use of machinery. The grapes are fermented for a few days in steel barrels and matured in oak barrels with natural yeasts. Stoass Gewurztraminer Alto Adige is an elegant, enveloping wine with a well-balanced sensory structure.

The Cellar: Winegrowers by passion: this is how one could summarise the spirit that animates the Pfitschers, a South Tyrolean family that deals with viticulture with tireless commitment and total dedication. We are in Montagna, just south of Bolzano, South Tyrol. The Pfitscher family's wine cellar is, in fact, certified 'CasaClima Wine', a seal that assesses the environmental compatibility of the building, living comfort, energy and water consumption in wine production, from the choice of packaging to the impact of its transport. Currently, there are around seven hectares under vine managed by the winery, which can boast some of the best plots of land in the entire southern Alto Agide area. Between the rows, the management of the vines is conventional, but we never lose sight of what is the main objective: to reduce any artificial intervention to a minimum, in order to harvest grapes that are pure, concentrated and natural.
