Ermitage Rouge Ermite AOC Biodynamic Agriculture - M Chapoutier
Yet another masterpiece from M. Chapoutier, this Ermitage Rouge AOC L'Ermite. It is produced with 100% Syrah grapes, hand-picked from the eponymous vineyard located atop the famous Hermitage hill, where the vines, over 80 years old, reach their peak expression thanks to rigorous adherence to organic and biodynamic farming practices. The grapes are completely destemmed, and fermentation in cement tanks at high temperatures for at least 20 days. The wine is then aged for 20 months in wooden barrels of various vintages. Extraordinarily complex in its aromatic profile and supported by a rare tannic structure, it is a Syrah at the pinnacle of the appellation's quality and one of the winery's most representative reds.
