Cognac XO Grande Champagne Journey 10YO - Hine

Cognac XO Grande Champagne Journey 10YO - Hine

The quality of Hine Cognac is so highly regarded that it was even accepted as the sole supplier of cognac by Queen Elizabeth II of England. Hine rigorously and consistently monitors the quality of its cognac and has won over 30 medals in the last five years. Cognacs with a "statement of age" are quite rare, but Hine specifies a 10-year XO maturation for this cognac.

The Distillery: Founded in 1763, Maison Hine is one of the oldest Cognac producers. For its spirits, it uses exclusively grapes grown in the region's two most prestigious crus, Grande and Petite Champagne. All its Cognacs are aged for a period far exceeding legal requirements. Over its 250-year history, Maison Hine has also established itself worldwide as a leading specialist in the production of vintages, a true rarity in the Cognac sector. Hine's superb international reputation is confirmed by the 30 awards and recognitions received in the last five years. Hine is also the only Cognac house to hold the exclusive Royal Warrant, the seal of official purveyor to the Royal House of England. In particular years, when the climate allows for an exceptionally high-quality harvest, Maison Hine retains a small quantity of Cognac distilled exclusively from grapes from the most prestigious cru, Grande Champagne. These are the vintages, of which Hine has amassed over the centuries a collection unparalleled in the industry. The vintages are aged and refined in the Hine and Jarnac cellars, under temperature and humidity conditions that guarantee the production of elegant, full-bodied, and extraordinarily complex spirits. Some Hine vintages are transported in barrels to Bristol, England, to age across the Channel, according to an ancient 19th-century custom: these vintages are called Early Landed Cognacs. With lower average temperatures and higher humidity levels than in Jarnac, the vintages aged in Bristol acquire and maintain more delicate, light, and fruity notes.
