Cognac Extra - Meukow
 
A rare expression of significant age, Meukow Extra Cognac was created with some of the oldest eaux-de-vie from the house's Paradise cellar. With some of its components aged for up to 30 years in French oak, this Cognac features all the aromas and flavors you expect from extended maturation: rich leather, rancio and truffle abound.

Tasting Notes: Dark antique gold in color. Bouquet of overripe grapes, toffee sauce, bananas, milk chocolate and dessert wine blend to give an impression of richness. Old oak and some pressed flowers give a touch of maturity. On the palate, more powerful than sweet, with notes of leather and rancio. The long finish is characterized by rich hints of truffle.
 
The Distillery: Meukow Cognac is one of the few Russian Cognacs present in the Charente region. In 1862 two brothers were sent to France to supply the Tsar with Cognac and decided to start their own Cognac distillery. The brand has become known as "jaguar liqueur" or "panther liqueur", thanks to the distinctive design of its bottle. The big cat in question is in fact a puma and today, with its famous logo, it ranks among the best-known Cognac brands in the world. Its qualities are strength, elegance, sensuality and exoticism, the character traits of the puma. The distillery is located in Matha, in the Charente Maritime, and is particularly renowned for the Cognac VS, the Vanilla Cognac liqueur and the 90-Proof Liqueur, among the many.
