Bordeaux Chateau des Laurets AOC - Baron Edmond De Rothschild
Château des Laurets Baron Edmond de Rothschild is a noble red wine, just like the family that produces it. It comes from the estate of Baron Benjamin Rothschild, 80 hectares between Puissegain Sant Emilion and Montagne Saint-Emilion, with calcareous clay soils. This is the most renowned and recognized area of Bordeaux. Château des Laurets Baron Edmond de Rothschild is the result of the expert art of blending different grapes, a typical Bordeaux tradition; in this case, the blend is composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Château des Laurets Baron Edmond de Rothschild is aged for approximately a year and a half in oak barrels and then refined for another year in bottle. It is a powerful red wine, capable of pairing with any type of food, even the most challenging, without overpowering the flavors of the dishes. It features an intense purple-red color with violet highlights. The nose opens with elegant aromas of raspberry, currant, and cherry, enriched with pleasant spicy notes. On the palate, it is characterized by good acidity and well-structured, with dense tannins that lead to a fruity and persistent finish.

The Cellar: The Rothschild family's winemaking tradition dates back to the second half of the 19th century, when James de Rothschild purchased the famous Château Lafite. However, it was in 1973 that, after more than a century of family history connected to the world of wine, James's great-grandson, Baron Edmond de Rothschild, strengthened the company's holdings by acquiring two "Crus Bourgeois" in Listrac and Moulis en Médoc: Château Clarke, Château des Laurets, and Château Malmaison. Since then, the growth has continued: by meticulously restoring all the structures and buildings and initiating systematic replanting, the "Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild" was founded. While maintaining a family-run business, it has embraced modernization and innovation, even crossing the borders of France and landing in South Africa and the Argentine Andes. Experience and tradition dictate the pace both in the vineyard and in the cellar, so the vines are cultivated with extreme care and with full respect for the environment and ecosystem. During the vinification, aging, and maturation stages, every production step is meticulously and scrupulously monitored. Producing quality red wines that meet the highest standards in terms of terroir selection and winemaking techniques, the company continues to expand steadily, maintaining a strong passion for excellence and firmly on course for consistent production momentum. In short, it is a winery that deserves to be considered among the most prestigious in the world, especially when it comes to the finest French red wines, capable of combining the utmost excellence with impressive numbers like few others.
