Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC - Marchesi Incisa Tenuta San Guido
The vineyard is located in soil with limestone formations and a high stony content, a characteristic that likely gives rise to the toponym "Sassicaia." The soils have a west and southwest exposure. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins for approximately 12 days. The wine is aged in French oak barriques for 24 months, followed by another 2 years in the bottle.

Pairings: It pairs deliciously with refined main courses of red meat or game. Spectacular with grilled meats, roasts, and beef fillets, as well as traditional Tuscan dishes featuring wild boar.
The Winery: Tenuta San Guido, named after San Guido della Gherardesca, who lived in the 13th century, is a historic winery in the Bolgheri area. It is located along the Etruscan coast, in the Tuscan Maremma. Sassicaia wine was born here, from an idea of Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, who wanted to create a great Bordeaux-style wine. In the 1920s, inspired by Bordeaux and the aristocracy of the past, he dreamed of producing a truly thoroughbred wine. Having moved to the Tuscan estate in the second half of the 20th century, Marchese Incisa della Rocchetta began experimenting, planting some French grape vines in an area that was previously completely unknown from a viticultural perspective. From that moment on, with splendid foresight, the Marquis was able to understand the potential of the Bolgheri area and of the very soils on which he had planted the vines, which presented unique microclimate characteristics, very similar to the Graves and Bordeaux areas. The recommended temperature is 18°C.
