Tequila Anejo - Kah

Tequila Anejo - Kah

A distillate with intense and concentrated aromas, in which the agave emerges as the protagonist of the olfactory profile. This plant is in fact the raw material from which Tequila is obtained, and is therefore carefully chosen by the Kah team, selecting only the best quality. At the end of the highly artisanal distillation process, the Tequila is left to rest for 2 years in American oak barrels, to increase its body and expressiveness on the palate. A bottle that is striking not only for the quality of its aromas and flavours, but also for its characteristic skull shape, a figure which, for the Mayan population, celebrates the passage between life, death and rebirth.

Tasting Notes: In the glass it takes on a dark straw yellow color. On the nose there are clearly hints that refer to the agave plant, embellished with spicy and woody touches. When tasted it is medium-bodied, rich, with a well-balanced tasty sip and a good persistence finish.

The Distillery: Few spirits in the world embody the spirit of an entire country as Tequila does for Mexico. It is in fact a product that, in this nation, has very ancient origins: traces of its presence can be found since the times of the Aztecs, well before the times of Spanish domination arrived. In fact, the priests of the Aztec populations, the only ones authorized to taste Tequila, used to consume it to enter a state of unconsciousness, in which they were able to have contact with the superior divinities. Over the centuries, Tequila became widely widespread, reaching today to play the role of one of the most marketed spirits in the world, with various production companies dedicated to its creation. Among these stands out Kah, Tequila born in the Fabrica de Tequila Finos distillery in Jalisco, Mexico. In the ancient Mayan language, the word "kah" meant life: this Tequila wants to pay homage to existence, an event that in Mexico is officially celebrated on the days of the dead, from 31 October to 2 November. It might seem counterintuitive, but the memory of the disappeared takes on a positive connotation for the Mexican population, which in these three days gives rise to celebrations with banquets, drinks and toasts. During these rituals, great attention is paid to the "calaveras", human skulls that symbolize death and rebirth. This explains the origin of the skull-shaped bottles of the Kah line, in which each bottle is a unique piece, worked with artisanal colors and textures, never the same. Kah is very careful to select only the best quality of blue Agave, a plant that is distilled following strictly artisanal methods.
